a tale of a lone warrior.

I sit with him and hold the blanket around me for the moment. "Why are you unable to sleep?" I asked him curiously.

"Just have alot on my mind mostly this war thats about to start between the other kingdoms and us but for some reason u havent left my mind

I looked at him in surprise, "me? Why me?" With such a big thought on his mind I don't see how I would be so important.

"Just the mystery of you and how beautiful u are. Specially since iv been taught to c past color race or skin" i said softly blushing alittle

I blushed a little too, "thank you. Why do you think I'm mysterious?"

"The way u hold back just about everything from everyone you always seem to want to hold urself away from everyone with a tenfoot pole swinging it around screaming dont touch me or get to know me." i said smiling alittle

"I'm sorry, I just don't know how to be apart of something like a family, or even be a friend. All my father ever taught me was hate," I sighed as I pulled my legs up to my chest.

I rest my hand softly on urs. "U can break away from that u know and accept us as a family. And learn to become the woman u were ment to be" i said softly

I looked at him, "you make it sound so easy. Hate is the strongest emotion I've felt and to be honest I sometimes understand why my dad feels as he does. Seeing the way your kind and humans get to live and how we get to live, I can't help but hate your father for it. It was his decision to out us there," I said.

"Because he didnt want to risk bloodshed. He didnt want a war on our hands when we just got rid of a tyrant." i said softly and sighed. "But at the same time he didnt want the humans get caught up in a war thats as old as the elves themselves. I just.....i just wish there was a way to stop this damned war and find peace between us...." i said softly looking down

"Unfortunately I don't think we can stop it. Not even if we did find we love each other and married. Sadly it doesn't work like humans or even the Kahijit and the humans. My kind needs to see we're not only together, but making our kind live comfortably with everyone," I replied. "Too much that can't happen needs to happen."

I nodded softly "which is y my father did what he did to prevent more bloodshed. Hes tired of fighting but does so to make a better world. Which is y he plans on freeing ur people and giving them their own town to rule but its taking to long to train the humans to fight like the kajiit

"Yes I can see that. Have you considered that perhaps they can't fight as well as you do because they are just human, I mean our fighting styles are different based on the bodies we have with what we are. Perhaps humans can't fight like you," I said.

"Maybe some have mastered our fighting style so they can adapt but maybe it is time to send them to war and free ur people then maybe....this all will stop the war i mean." i said looking at u

I looked at him then looked away. "I'm afraid that not everyone will fall in with you. People like my father will always try to over throw your people," I said.I leaned into his side and sighed, "naturally that is how the world is though so I suppose you know that."

I nodded softly and wrapped both arms around u. "Is ur father trying to use you....to get to me?" i asked softly. "And through me my father?" i asked

I looked at him, "why would you say that? I can't stand that man or his plans, he made me who I am and I want nothing to do with him." I stood up just to give him the impression I was offended by that, and in a way I was. Even though it was true, and I was just a pawn in his game. Of course I was becoming confused about the way I felt, and what I wanted. I knew it would be easier to just keep going like this.

"Is it so bad to look at the world so realistically? You can't possibly think that there's a true happily ever after coming once this war ends? There's no such thing, and I don't think there's even real happiness, you can experience it but happiness always leaves you some day," I said. That is, if you've ever had it.

I sighed "im sorry but yes i do c a way to end this warand find a way to actually be happy for the rest of my life

"And how is that?" I asked him.

"By us making the world a better place and doing all we can to help everyone" i said softly "and will do all i can to make that happen

"Yeah, that's always helpful," I said.

"U have a better idea?

"Frankly I don't believe in being able to make the world better," I said.
